My background
I have worked in various sectors including management training and
consultancy, health, the arts, local government and the motor
industry. I have run my own businesses for over 30 years, following
my last post as one of the Directors of the Arts Council of Great
Britain.
My coaching
My coaching is mainly based on NLP (Neuro-Linguistic
Programming), as are several of my books (see book
section of this website for more information on these). I
was, for some years, Chair of the Association for Neuro-
Linguistic Programming and Editor of their magazine
Rapport. NLP offers ways of helping people be more
effective at what they do, whether that is acquiring new
skills, improving their relationships, making changes in
their life, getting rid of unwanted habits or fears, making
presentations, leading a team, building a business and
much more.
Some associated things I do are:
Running a monthly NLP meeting for a local group of
retired/semi-retired people (u3a). Going into schools,
colleges and other institutions, as part of the Big Ideas
Wales project, to talk about entrepreneurship/choosing a
career and running a business. Giving talks to other
groups (such as WI, NWR, networking groups) and giving
talks in libraries.
A few of the topics I have given talks on are:
Using your mind more effectively
Memory training
Getting on with people
Body language
Avoiding procrastination
Personal image and appearance
Weight management
Health
I can offer individual, group or corporate
coaching and training as well as talks
